Jogging Strollers
Jogging strollers are for serious walkers, joggers and runners, and have only three wheels. The large, fixed front wheel of a jogging stroller keeps it in-line, making it easy to push while jogging. Also, the front wheel is typically between 16 to 20 inches for maximum resistance to bumps and other minor obstacles, allowing for the smoothest ride for both parent and child. For use on paved surfaces, jogging strollers are appropriate for newborn babies and older, though babies should be at least 6 months old before jogging with them in the stroller (check with a pediatrician first).
Important Features
- Fixed front wheel
- Air-filled tires
- Shock absorbers
Right Start Tip
The hand strap of a jogging stroller ensures the stroller won't roll away in case of an accident. Make sure to purchase this safety component if not included with the stroller.

All-Terrain Strollers
Though all-terrain strollers look like jogging strollers, they are used for different purposes. Perfect for power walkers and hikers, all-terrain strollers have extremely tough tires built to handle off-road strolling. The swiveling front wheel allows for maneuvering in tight spaces, plus many all-terrain strollers come feature-loaded with accessories such as cup holders. All-terrain strollers are appropriate for newborn babies and older.
Important Features
- Swiveling front wheel
- Durable tires
- Convenient options, such as cup holders
Right Start Tip
The major difference between jogging strollers and all-terrain strollers is the front wheel. All-terrain strollers have a swiveling front wheel that's slightly smaller than the locking front wheel of a jogging stroller.

Travel Systems
Travel systems are a one-stop solution, providing mobility from birth through the toddler years. Many parents prefer travel systems because they allow baby to easily go from one place to the next, even while sleeping. A travel system is typically comprised of an infant car seat, a car seat base and a stroller frame that accommodates the infant car seat. Plus, many travel systems are now being made to adapt to toddler car seats, allowing for a longer life span. Travel systems are appropriate for newborn babies and older.
Important Features
- Built-in adapters
- Compatible travel gear in only three pieces
- One transport vessel for baby
Right Start Tip
Many manufacturers sell car seats, car seat bases and strollers separately from each other, allowing parents to build their very own accommodating travel systems.

Double & Triple Strollers
Double and triple strollers are a fantastic solution for growing families. Both double and triple strollers are available with side-by-side seating. Another popular configuration for double strollers is tandem seats that are staggered or in-line. Though double and triple strollers can be heavier than a full size stroller, many parents find them to be more convenient with two kids or more. Double and triple strollers can be used with newborns and up, though make sure to check each seat's exact age and weight requirements.
Important Features

Right Start Tip
When shopping for double and triple strollers, make sure to pay attention to the width of the stroller for what is best accommodating for your lifestyle.

What To Look For In A Stroller
Strollers are a must-have for young children and come in various sizes, styles, colors and prices. Right Start is proud to carry strollers from top manufacturers around the world, including Baby Jogger, BOB, Bugaboo, UPPAbaby and more, where quality and safety features are among the very best.
Safety: Children under 6 months of age need a stroller that fully reclines or is infant car seat compatible. You'll also want to note that even though all strollers are equipped with safety straps, five-point safety harnesses are recommended.
Age/Weight: Always check the age and weight restrictions for any stroller you're interested in purchasing. Each stroller's specifications vary based on manufacturer and model.
Lifestyle: Are you constantly on the go running errands, traveling or frequenting parks, museums or the zoo with baby? Or maybe you never skip your daily jog? Take your lifestyle into consideration when choosing a comfortable and convenient stroller.
Stroller Weight: Will you be able to lift the stroller to put it into your vehicle's trunk or whenever necessary? Is it light enough to push? Think about your daily activities and remember your stroller will go almost everywhere you go.
Steering Capabilities: Is the stroller easy to maneuver through tight spaces and around corners? Does it have a smooth ride? These are a few things to keep in mind while stroller shopping.
Your Height: Look for a stroller with handles that comfortably fit your height. Adjustable handlebars give you flexibility for different activities and environments, though not all stroller handlebars are adjustable.
Storage Space: Most strollers provide storage underneath the seat, and some strollers have cup holders and side or back pockets. Add-on storage compartments can be purchased separately to provide enough room for diapering essentials, toys, snacks and more.
Stroller Safety Tips
- Despite images you may see, do not hang diaper bags or other heavy bags on stroller handles, which can create a tipping hazard.
- Always use the safety belt or harness to keep your baby safe while riding in the stroller.
- Keep your little one away from the stroller when you are folding and unfolding it to prevent fingers from being pinched.
- To avoid suffocation, do not use a pillow or a blanket in the stroller.
- Make sure your child fits the criteria of the recommended age, weight and height restrictions.
- Make sure the brake is locked when the stroller is parked.
- Do not use strollers on an escalator or stairs.
- Ensure the stroller is completely unfolded and fully opened before using.
- Register your stroller with the manufacturer so that you are notified in case of a recall.
