What sold me on this was the ease of latching the chair to the table. The chair has great grip and you don't need a lot of force to turn the knobs. I mostly spot clean it after each use because you can't remove strap cushions. The shoulder straps seem to fit oddly so I just use the bottom clasp positioned belly button level and it keeps him in.

The cons is it doesn't work on a lot of tables. So far it has worked at most restaurants. Most home dining tables seems to have a lip on them so it wont work. At my home or when we are visiting I tend to latch it on the breakfast counter ledge. So even though I can't use it everywhere where it does work at makes it all worth it to enjoy my meal. The standard single strap restaurant high chairs have me constantly working on putting my son back in because they're too easy to get out from.

I bought the portable high chair a few months. Although it is a great chair it does not work on all tables. I didn't realize that if a table has a ledge or lip under it you cannot use the potable chair. Everywhere we go; to friends or families they have a lip under their table. So we can't use the portable high hair.

Comments about phil&teds Lobster Highchair (Black/Red):

No high chairs in this house, only the lobster chair. We have used it daily since baby was 6 months old. We have it attached to our counter height bar, so she is eating right there with us. It's also worked great on the go. We've been able to use it at many restaurants and prefer it over a highchair, especially when the child is younger/smaller. The tray does easily slide out, but that has never been an issue for us. It gave us the option to use a plate instead of tray as she got older. My one issue with the chair is that the fabric started pulling away from the frame. This started happening after about a year and a half of use with a child that is less than 30 lbs. I was hoping that we could use it for the next child also, but it's not going to make it.

Comments about phil&teds Lobster Highchair (Black/Red):

Bought this instead of a conventional high chair - the ability to fold it away means that our house doesn't have to look like it was taken over by the baby! we also take it to friends houses and restaurants, its the best!

Comments about phil&teds Lobster Highchair (Black/Red):

I love this chair so much. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. It's so compact and useful. I also found that most high chairs toddlers try to get out of where as this they are more comfortable to stay in for longer which is great when out and about :)
