My baby isn't bron yet but the carseat is set up and ready to go-it's extremely lightweight and simple to use. The fabric is soft and cushioned, the infant insert is functional without trying to be too cutesy. My only complaint is the release to let go of the seat from the base or the stroller is a little akward, as you have to hold the sides and push a button with both thumbs to get it to reease, then lift it that way before grabbing the handle. Easy now, but I imagine will be harder with 10-20lbs in it. I'm also sure I'll get use to it. Would love to see the release button in the handle like the Uppa Mesa. The pull down sun shade is a really smart feature, although I'm not sure the magnetic hold is powerful enough to keep it down. Time will tell. Lightest carseat out there-even lighter then the Cybex Aton. The car seat base is heavy and sturdy and seems to be a very safe piece of equipment.

I purchased the nuns pipa with high hopes that I would love the seat. And while I do love how it looks, I wanted to give you my quick review of what I think of it after 3 months of use:

pros-its light. thats nice
the base is easy to install
the seat is easy to buckle in without the base
the straps are easy to adjust

some things i'm not so impressed with:
the handle scratches easily-mine is dinged up after just 3 months
the plastic in the front has worn through the fabric-creating holes on both sides of the front of the seat-looks cheap now.
the flap on the canopy blows open-there is no way to keep it shut-so when its -15 out, the wind just blows right in to your baby.
the paparazzi shield that comes down doesn't stay down either-the magnets are not strong enough-it just flaps around if you try to use it.
when the seat is on a stroller (I use a bugaboo bee), it's really awkward to release using the buttons by the handle base. in fact, when my baby gains a few more pounds, i'm not sure i'll be able to detach it alone. you have to hold the buttons downs with both thumbs, then lift up the entire seat by the handle base-then somehow switch so you're holding the handle alone.

with such a high price i expected the seat to be a little more ingeniously engineered. there are some very poor design features.
bummed,

      Comments about Nuna PIPA Infant Car Seat (Sand):

      We looked at several car seats, and settled on the Nuna Pipa for its unique features:

      (1) The seat portion (which you carry) is lighter than many other car seats, since much of the working mechanism is in the base portion that stays in the car;
      (2) The fixed anchors are easy to use, by simply angling them toward the car's Latch connectors, and pushing the base down firmly - the connectors turn green for confirmation;
      (3) The stability leg makes the entire installation seem very sturdy;
      (4) The "dream drape" essentially covers the entire seat, which really helps to protect baby from sun and wind, and as a result he loves sleeping in it (the preemie insert helps also).

      The fixed anchors are of a fixed length so they did make our installation a little trickier in angled bucket-like rear seats, but the adjustable foot and/or a rolled-up towel can be used to address that - an alternative would be to use the available seatbelt routing.

      It's rare to see the Nuna Pepa in-store, which did cause us to consider alternatives. Ultimately we purchased the Pepa without seeing it in-person, on the strength of its reviews and advice from the store manager. It has worked out very well for our needs, and others who have since seen ours in-person have commented on its high quality and unique features as described above.

        Comments about Nuna PIPA Infant Car Seat (Night):

        Bought this the other day, not having really heard of Nuna and having previously wanted the Chicco Keyfit 30. Saw it in the store and was immediately attracted to it's looks and features. Previously had settled on the Chicco however I wasn't at all a fan of the way it looks.

        After having researched the Nuna Pipa extensively, found it to have high safety marks as wells as excellent reviews. I was a little apprehensive at some of the reviews that the seat base arm that drops down had a rattling noise. But after having installed it using the LATCH system, the leg in our cars was extremely stable and didn't make a squeak. The seat base literally installed in less than 30seconds.

        The dream drape is an awesome feature.

        All in all, this is an amazing car seat. If your willing to pony up a few extra dollars, it's worth it.

        Comments about Nuna PIPA Infant Car Seat (Night):

        We are still waiting for our little boy to arrive, but we have had this car seat installed for two weeks now... just incase! The car seat is light, easy to manuvar and very stylish.

        When looking for a car seat, I had safety I mind! I'm sure every parents looks to buy the safest car seat for their new addition. The pipa really caught our eye with the stability leg, the lightweight material, and the low birth weight capacity.

        After having the car seat installed for 1 day, (without a baby), I had to tuck the stability leg under the base to prevent it from rattling. I must confess.... It was incrediably annoying! I hope, once the baby arrives, and there is weight in the seat itself, that it will prevent the rattling from occurring.

        Overall, the car seat seems to be made well and was very easy to install.

        Comments about Nuna PIPA Infant Car Seat (Night):

        We really wanted to love this product and still do when we're not in the car. The support from the base to the bottom of the car makes a horrible rattling noise which is driving us crazy when in the car. Nuna should have thought of a better design to avoid the rattling. However, the car seat itself is amazing. Easy to clean, lightweight, and the mesh is awesome. It is also very easy to install.
