I never write reviews on the internet but this product is so terrible I feel it is my obligation to warn other parents. I think I have lost more sleep over the stress of dealing with this defective monitor than I have with a newborn in the house. I am now on my 4th replacement monitor and that one is failing as well. My neighbor let me borrow a used, hand-me-down monitor that she had since mine are so unreliable and that one works perfectly. On the other hand, this outrageously expensive monitor has never worked for more than a month. The newest replacement monitor Motorola sent stopped linking the first night I set it up. When I call, Motorola suggests that there must be some interference in house that is causing the device failure, which makes no sense in light of the fact that the hand me down monitor works perfectly. All that Motorola can do is keep sending replacements, which has been more of a hassle than it's worth. In the end, I may just have to buy a different monitor.

        • Breaks Easily
        • Poor Quality
        • video freezes
        • wires break after 1 month

        Best Uses

horrible monitor! Cannot depend on the live video as this monitor freezes. What I mean by that is that the video freezes in time, so it could freeze to an image where your baby is asleep, when in actuality he is cring and awake but you don't know that because what you see on the monitor is a sleeping baby. Very dangerous! Also, the wire broke apart just after one month of regular use, so the monitor would not charge properly. Avoid this monitor as it does not do what it is intended for.

Motorola has a great warranty and will replace your broken monitor pretty easily. I have this monitor and have had to replace it four times in four months. I have never dropped it. The same issue continues to occur: the sound stops working. Recently I figured out that when the sound stops working, I can turn the music on on the monitor, then the sound will work again. I used to associate the sound breaking with when I set up the viewing capability on my cell phone, but haven't tried it again since finding a solution to see if this is still part of the problem.
