We purchased our second crib and mattress because our oldest son is now 17 months, with a baby brother expected in 2 months. In reality, we decided to keep our original crib/mattress set for the new baby and give the new crib/mattress to our toddler. So I can't speak of the infant side. It's a very tight squeeze into the crib (DaVinci Kalani 4-in-1 Convertible Crib with Toddler Rail, Espresso ). Square edges, but lightweight. Unlike our first mattress where I could change sheets without moving the mattress, this one is so tight I have to take mattress fully out of the crib. I bought this mattress because it doesn't have the plastic/vinyl covering, but the nylon covering still causes baby to sweat - however, if leaks happen, it is stain proof. We'll keep it because there is nothing wrong with it, just no "wow" factor. (Our inital mattress is a European mattress and has a pure organic cotton surface which is super breathable for baby (all other features the same: lightweight, firm, etc. etc.). I couldn't find something like that in the USA).

I like this mattress unfortunately there are 2 quality issues with the one I bought:
1. The length of the mattress is not 52 inches as it should be. It is only 51,5 inches. This creates a small gap between the mattress and the crib. This can be an issue later when the baby is older
2. The corners on the "toddler side" are not square, they are not fully filled out and thus not properly shaped.
I have sent a direct email to their customer service explaining the quality issus but I have not received any response. Very disappointing.

My daughter sleeps well on this. Much better than two other mattresses we purchased in the past. Going to buy another one for the newborn.

I love that it has two sides clearly labeled for infant and toddler. Expensive but will last for years.

With all the "trial and error" parents go through to find what works best for baby (who changes just as you think you've found it), I love the dual firmness aspect of this mattress. We were using a hand-me-down spring mattress, which sagged; our 3-month-old was having a hard time taking to his crib. We got this Moonlight foam mattress, trying first the firm side and then the plusher side (which is more like his crib mattress at day care). Maybe the timing was just coincident, but he has slept very well on the plush side (sleep "regressions" aside). I love that once he learns to roll over to his tummy I can flip it back to the firm side for safety.
The material is nicer than most waterproof mattresses; hard to describe, but it's like a creamy plastic, not the hard crisp plastic of many other types. And it is so light weight, making it super easy to change sheets quickly.
