The Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump with Metro Bag is a daily use breastpump designed for moms who pump several times a day. All Pump In Style Advanced Breastpumps offer portable convenience for quiet, discreet pumping anywhere.

What is 2-Phase Expression Technology?

Through research, Medela learned that there are two distinct phases of how babies breastfeed. The Stimulation Phase is fast and light sucking to start milk flowing followed by the Expression Phase, slow and stronger sucking to deliver more milk faster. The Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump with Metro Bag has exclusive 2-Phase Expression technology that mimics a baby's natural nursing pattern.

Comments about Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump with Metro Bag:

I've been using this pump with my newborn to get my milk supply going and it is working out great. I also use it to prep for feeding a as it really aids in getting the colostrum out. I am sure that once I am able to use this fully, it will be even more fantastic. I really like the fact that the pump itself comes in a small, portable case so that it can be left anywhere without a big bulky bag - very convenient.

I do notice though that the suction is not always even when I am double pumping. It's not a huge difference however I definitely can tell. All in all, I would definitely recommend this pump, especially to first time Moms

Comments about Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump with Metro Bag:

Like many first time parents, I read countless product reviews and spend far too long making decisions about which product is best. Selecting a breast pump was, perhaps, the hardest decision since I had issues with supply. I ultimately selected the PISA metro tote for two reasons: it wasn't attached to the bag like the backpack and tote version (Seriously, Medela, attached to the bag?!) and it didn't have a lithium ion battery, like the Freestyle, which could lose power and suction over time.
I still primarily use a rental Medela Symphony due to aforementioned supply issues. The PISA pumps nearly the same amount as the Symphony, but takes slightly longer (20 vs. 15 minutes) and is much louder than the Symphony. It still has some of the portability of the Freestyle and nearly the same capacity as the Symphony which makes me confident that it is the best commercially available breast pump.

Comments about Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump with Metro Bag:

I have found the pump to work great and be quite comfortable, given the adjustable levels. I find it convenient that the motor separates from the bag in this model. The biggest negative is that the bag for this model was larger than I expected so is quite a load to tote around when full. I will probably end up leaving the bag and motor (the heaviest component) at work and carry the items that need to be transported in a smaller bag. If I had to purchase again, I would probably try to find a more compact model.

Comments about Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breastpump with Metro Bag:

I started out renting a Medela Symphony (hospital grade), which was absolutely awesome. After 3 months I switched to a Pump In-Style from 2005, the 12-volt version, for my daily use pump at work, and I love it. I then bought the 2010 Pump In-Style Metro to keep at home so I wouldn't have to schlep another bag around every day.
I love the portability of the Metro pump, which is removable from the bag (unlike the 2005 version). I also like the size of the bag, as it fits more pump kits/tubing/storage bags/whatever. To be honest I love everything about the 2010 PIS Metro except the suction.
For me personally, the 9-volt does not have enough suction. I can barely pump 2oz total with the 9-volt motor, versus the 12-volt with which I usually get 4-6 oz (same time of day). I wish they still made the 12-volt motor, I would LOVE to get it in the Metro bag.
