The Idea is Born

Lisa O'Connor is no stranger to baby product reviews. She created a market research firm, the Parents Insight Network, not long after giving birth to her son Owen in 2008. The Parents Insight Network allows parents' voices to be collectively heard by juvenile product manufacturers, giving parents nationwide the opportunity to influence product development processes for all types of baby items.

Lisa learned through the Parents Insight Network that new parents lacked a go-to, online resource for baby product selection. Lisa's personal desire as a new mom matched the needs of the parents she was researching: Baby product reviews are most helpful when shoppers have access to reviews of like-minded parents. The overwhelming demand for this type of baby product review tool led Lisa to launch Tried And Truth in April 2012.

Making a Difference

Unlike most review websites, which fail to provide any insight into reviewer preferences, Tried And Truth showcases useful information, photos, reviews and video reviews from real parents who are categorized by lifestyle and whose preference profile is completely transparent. Tried And Truth allows new parents to quickly and easily find reviews from other parents with similar baby product priorities.

Tried And Truth & Beyond

Lisa has an extensive background in market research and consumer goods. She's worked for a variety of companies, including Whole Foods Market, Gap, Inc., Goldbug, Inc. (a baby accessories company) and more. Lisa received her Bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, where she was an avid tennis player and captained her school's squash team. Afterwards, Lisa returned to her home state of Colorado to attain a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
