We bought this carseat for our 10 month old. My husband and I are both quite tall and managed to fit the seat rear-facing in the middle backseat of my Elantra without the angle adjuster, it's a tight fit, but as soon as we can use the angle adjuster it will give us quite a lot more room! We can easily fit other carseats and boosters on either side of the seat for any visiting and future children. The ease of the latch system also gets a thumbs up! The only thing that is difficult is that it is quite heavy making it hard to move from one car to the next.

My wife and I bought 2 Diono car seats, a Radian RXT and a Radian R120. While I agree with most folks about the quality and such of these Dionos, I find it very, very difficult, if not impossible, to install the seat properly. As we all know, the seat must be secured to the vehicles seat suck that there is less then 1" of movement in any direction. The design of the Diono prevents this. In the forward facing position in harness mode, the location of the belt path is so far rearward (due to the very slim nature of the car seat) that the angle of the belt is almost vertical. Without any horizontal component of the belt angle, there is no rearward force when the belt is tight. Hence, the seat can be pulled forward quite easily. And, the same things happens using the Latch system. Now, I except folks to tell me that if the belt is tight enough, the seat is secure. But all that is happening is the car seat is being sucked into the bottom cushion of the vehicles seat. In a collision, the car seat will flip out of the indent in the seat cushion. Now, if the car seat is reclined and some kind of "spacer" is used between it and the vehicles seat back, some amount of belt angle can be achieved and some amount of security realized. But really, that's what I have to so with the most expensive, supposedly best car seat on the market? And the worst part about doing that is the the whole reason to get ripped off paying such a premium for a car seat is to get an ultra compact seat that will fit in smaller spaces and blah blah. Once the bottom is kicked out forward, a whole bunch of room is lost and the kids legs are jammed up to the seat in front, just like the so-called "big and bulky" car seats. I know, I've had seats from brand X and while they may be more bulky, I never had this issue (in the same vehicle, by the way). To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Frustrated and ticked off would be more accurate. Because, I don't have enough to do in my life then spend umpteen hours fooling around trying to get a car seat safely installed. Ridiculous. Good luck to you all!

Comments about Diono RadianR120 Convertible Car Seat (Twilight):

I bought one for my two year old, and I bought a second later for my one year old. I love them. Only con is that it is heavy, but that's just part of the deal for something safe. Both my children love sitting in it more than the other seat I had, we have no fight about these seats. Perfect seat and fits three across in my 2011 VW sportwagon.

Comments about Diono RadianR120 Convertible Car Seat (Twilight):

I bought this for my first son when he was about 10 months old. It is heavy, but so sturdy and narrow, while not sacrificing comfort. He's used it rear facing, forward facing, and we've flown with it several times. It fits down the aisle of the plane!!! I bought a cart to roll it on with him strapped in like a stroller right down the aisle (Britax car seat travel cart- you snap it on with LATCH) so he and I have flown by ourselves over 10 times with ease! I will be buying another for my youngest son when he outgrows the infant seat without hesitation. LOVE this seat!

Comments about Diono RadianR120 Convertible Car Seat (Twilight):

These are sturdy and will keep my children safe. But so will a cosco. we chose these because we needed 3 across in our Subaru Impreza. The materials are high quality.
BUT...
They're complicated! the manual alone was overwhelming (40+ pages and that's only one language). The buckle that comes up between the legs is way too short - my boys are always squished and getting pinched, which makes putting them in the seat very tricky. The shoulder strap padding is constantly coming off and is bulky.
Also...
I'm a carseat snob. I don't love any of the car seats we've tried (we have 7). They're all cumbersome, frustrating, hard to clean and annoying to install. This one was particularly complicated.

Comments about Diono RadianR120 Convertible Car Seat (Twilight):

We have a radian 120 in our babys main transporting vehicle and a radian 100 in other vehicle. Cushioning is great, instruction videos are easy to follow, the straps adjusted easily on both models and feel well made. It is heavy but when considering construction and safety reviews it is justified. In some ways the option to fold down and carry (airtravel, etc) is awesome BUT remember it's a Beast. It has tuck holes in back construction to 'hide' excess straps which is nice with rear facing. They both have the front tether system for rear facing. The one improvement I would suggest, is on the seat belt tracking area it is opened towards the back. So when trying to feed through belt while carseat is rear facing the seat belt tends to fall in that notch. My husband and I are both rather tall and have larger hands. Needless to say it was probably more difficult for us then average adult. So slap a thin piece of plastic to cover notch as a 'guide' for the seat belt and I'd be happy as a clam. Overall we love the radians and if more babies are ever added to our family we will be buying more.

Comments about Diono RadianR120 Convertible Car Seat (Twilight):

We purchased our first Radian for our 3 year old. We needed to fit three car seats in a row 1-2x/week. But after assembling it, we loved the memory foam and realized that our 22 mo old's carseat had zero padding. So we decided to use it for her instead, and we purchased the angle adjuster since she's still rear facing and will be dor awhile. So then because our aim was to have slim carseats, we ordered the second one for the 3 year old again.

They are slim, but because the seat that I need to install in the middle 1-2x/week is not a slim Diono, I have to install both of these with the seat belts instead of LATCH, to give a bit more room in the middle. The LATCH connectors are super nice though.

Sometimes my 3 yr old wants "sides" on her seat, but that's what we gave up for wanting slim seats. One con is the cup holder. It's cool that there are 4 different spots to put it, but it's too easy for both of my kids to take it out (and tricky to get back in). So we can't use them until the kids stop playing with them.

And the con about it being heavy is how it goes with a sturdy, steel frame.
