I spent a considerable amount of time researching car seats for my second child. We had purchased a Britax years ago for our older child, and loved the quality and safety. But there were so many new options on the market when we had our son, and that I entertained the idea of looking at other brands. When I saw it click tight model, I got very excited. Car seats are expensive, especially good ones like Britax! my husband and I did not want to sacrifice quality and safety for the sake of being able to afford two car seats, one for each car. The click tight is a heavy car seat, but the ease with which I installed and uninstalled it between our cars is worth every penny. I also like that the in-laws and grandparents can easily install it to and it isn't rocket science. There is a ton of padding on this thing, so far my son seems to be happy with it. my only concern is going to be in the summertime, I hope the padding doesn't make the seat too hot to sit in! Overall, we are very pleased with the car seat.

I really wanted to love this car seat but I honestly regret buying it. My biggest complaint is that they used very cheap components in the lower latch connector hooks, lower connector adjuster release button and finally the recline adjustment handle. These three pieces are not made well and make installation of the car seat very difficult. I know that they recommend using a seat belt for connection but the center seatbelt in my 2012 Honda pilot comes from the ceiling so it is better to use the latch connection points. The cheapness of these parts made it so I had to get help from my husband to get the car seat installed and then uninstalled. At around 120lbs I was not strong enough and did not weigh enough to get the click tight to close properly when installed rear facing. When I wanted to move the seat to another car I was not strong enough to undo the click tight. I again needed my husband to do it. I compete in triathlons so I should be strong enough to install a car seat. How safe is a car seat that has to be installed by heavy strong man? What if I need to move it to another car without the help of a guy? So other things I wish I would have know before buying this seat. I can not overemphasizes the cheapness of the lower latch hooks, lower adjust release button and lean angle handle. The hooks are very hard to connect and unconnect. If the car seat is installed rear facing it is impossible to adjust the lean angle without redoing the latches again. However, the lean angle changes once its installed due to the force towards the latch area. Finally, I think that the manual or the britax website needed to be more specific on the location of the model number (its under the fabric by the child's left leg). I should have spent half the amount of money and gotten a different seat. Very disappointed.

Changed my review

Comments about Britax Marathon ClickTight Convertible Car Seat (Vibe):

Great company! I previously gave this seat a one star review because I had difficulty installing and removing the seat. I was contacted by customer service and sent a new seat from Britax. The new seat Was easy to install. Only reason I am giving 4 star is because The seat , itself is still pretty heavy but I feel comfortable putting my two and a half year old in the seat. if I could remove my one star review, I would. Thank you Britax. You made me a happy customer.

Buckle straps are horribly short.

By Steven

from Chantilly, VA

Comments about Britax Marathon ClickTight Convertible Car Seat (Vibe):

I purchased this seat for our new car and I can't get over how terrible the buckle strap is. I tried moving the strap forward as instructed but the webbing strap itself is just too short. My 1 year old son cries in pain from the latches and buckle digging in to his inner thighs. If it were only few inches longer then his legs wouldn't have to be spread open and the latch/buckle wouldn't dig into his thighs. Will be returning this today.

My daughter had the cowmooflage infant car seat and we loved it so when we decided to upgrade we couldn't think of a better next stage car seat then the Britax click tight convertible one. They are very padded and since she is tinier than most baby's she fits in it perfectly.

Pain in the neck to install

    By Paoloni

    from Charlotte, NC, United States

Comments about Britax Marathon ClickTight Convertible Car Seat (Vibe):

We have bought six Britax carseats over the course of the last 6 years (2 seats per kid for three children, ages 7years, 5years, and 9months). In the past we have bought the Blvd. seat. Over the weekend we purchased the Marathon ClickTight. I installed it today and it was a MISERABLE process. I struggled with the ClickTight button it was broken, I couldn't adjust incline without serious force, and the lower anchor storage lid got wedged in the seat after it was installed as I didn't close it before adjusting the recline. Awful, terrible, install process. What is so frustrating is that it is marketed that it makes install easier...I can say that is not my experience. Having said all of that I do have confidence in the seat's safety but it is very difficult to install.
