The new Britax Frontier 85 Combination Harness-2-Booster boasts best-in-class forward-facing five-point harnessed weight capacity up to 85 pounds with an industry-leading 20 inch shoulder harness height. The seat also serves as a vehicle belt-positioning booster up to 120 pounds. Featuring True Side Impact Protection with one-hand adjustable harness height system, Versa-Tether and engineered energy management zones, the Frontier 85 is designed to be the safest high capacity seat in the industry. I bought this seat for my soon to be 6 year old son. I want him to be in 5-pt harness as long as I can. Before purchasing this seat, he's using Britax Regent (which I also love besides the heavyness).
I've been looking for another seat to put in my sister's car. After researching everywhere for a seat that will keep him harnessed, I found Britax Frontier 85! the first Frontier only came up to 18" on the top harness slot (my son is measuring at 16.5" bottom to shoulder). The Frontier 85 comes up to 20"! Right now my son has 4 more harness slots before he outgrows this seat and uses it as a booster. Even when he uses it as a booster, I will feel safe as I can install it using the latch and Secure Guard.
The Frontier 85 installs in my 04 Nissan Altima tight and very secure. The installation was a breeze.

Purchased this seat for my 4 yr. old as I wanted a booster seat that would keep him in a 5 point harness as long as possible. The safety of my kids is of my 1st concern. The seat is well made, stylish, easy to clean and best of all...my son loves the seat handles and two cup holders (one for his drink and the other to hold his superheros). I have had issues with my son's head falling forward as he naps on car rides in his previous seat...not any more! I am very pleased overall with the Britax Frontier 85.

We already had a pink one for my wife's car, so we liked it enough to buy it twice.
Only con is that my daughter doesn't look at that comfy when she racks out asleep in this chair. I assume that's the same as any other booster.

I own 3 Britax Frontier seats. 1 original Britax Frontier and 2 Britax Frontier 85. I have had my seats ranging 2+ years - 3 months. I LOVE THEM!!! The Frontier 85 is amazing. Once installed, I know I have given my kids the best I can in regards to providing them additional safety in the car.
The seats are easy to install with a really good, super tight install in every car I have had; even with the seat belt install.
(LATCH up to 40 lbs in harness mode. All the time in booster mode.)
My kids love their "big kid seats" and can buckle themselves in and out (ages 4 and 5). The harness clip starts off pretty stout and rigid but wears down becoming easier to squeeze in a matter of 1-2 weeks' use.) They sleep in them, they love the cup holders and arm rests. They love their seats.
It is a heavier seat, but this is a quality seat. I wouldn't expect anything less from it. I've never had to plan on moving the seat from car to car very often so this is not a concern of mine.
Britax is a constant in our lives. This Maui blue F85 seat is the 5th Britax seat I've purchased and I love it. Britax is reliably the best.

I bought this for my son to replace his convertible infant/toddler car seat. Since I previously owned Britax, it was a relatively easy decision based on the safety and reliability of their products. My son loves this seat - he sits so much more comfortably and enjoys the car ride much more. This seat is so easy to install and adjust. It is a bit heavy and yes pricey, but it is well worth it. The weight should not be a deal breaker as there are so many more pros that make this a best buy - high safety rating among boosters, easy installation & adjustment, versatility to grow with your child, material is easy to clean and finally, comfortable. I will be purchasing a second one for my husband's car. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this product .
