Rest easy knowing your baby is riding in the utmost in safety and style with the BOB B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat 2016 by Britax. This infant car seat safeguards your little one with a deep energy-absorbing shell and surrounds them with side impact protection and a strong steel frame. The Britax-exclusive SafeCell Impact Protection compresses during a collision, absorbing energy and keeping your little one safe. Due to the shell's depth and energy-absorbing foam lining, your child is protected from potential side collisions, and side-to-side movement is reduced. The shell is also contoured to take up less space in your car. An attached extra-large canopy shields your baby from the elements and keeps them cool and comfortable. Installing your car seat is a cinch thanks to the center-pull straps and quick-loading lower anchors, and detaching is easy with a simple press of a button. And you can quickly create the ideal BOB travel system with a simple adapter (sold separately), or use the Click & Go technology to pair it with any Britax stroller with no adapter necessary. Seven month old baby emerges from roll-over unscathed!

The Britax B-Safe kept our daughter fully protected when our vehicle was broadsided and flipped over. Enough said.

I bought the Britax B Safe 35 in March 2015 when I found out I was pregnant. I used it for a very short period of time, until the handle recall came out and mine was an affected model. It is a very heavy seat to begin with, so I am not surprised the handle was snapping supporting the weight of the seat. I initially chose a Britax because I heard great things about the B Ready stroller as a double stroller (and it really is great. They thought of everything.) The B Safe 35 infant seat is compact, which is convenient, and the sunshade is full coverage-it was a sleep machine for my newborn. As I used it though, I started to see its quality degrade very quickly. The base started to split on the plastic seams where the recline foot was located, and the clips to the base would stick when attempting to release the car seat. The handle was visibly bending when held with the baby in it and didn't seem like the right type of plastic for a car seat handle-too soft. I called customer service at Britax and they agreed to exchange the B Safe 35 under warranty for the original B Safe, which I LOVE. Although it doesn't have as much sun coverage, the original B Safe is much more user friendly. The seat is wider to accommodate a bigger framed child, but somehow didn't take up any more space in my car when fitting 3 across.I found the base easier to install because it is open in many spaces and much LIGHTER. The baseless install of the original B Safe was much easier because of the upward curve of the leg area, although I didn't have to do that for our other car since an extra base is almost $30 cheaper. The original B Safe also rocks when placed on the floor because it is curved, like all the other infant seats I've used EXCEPT the B Safe 35! I can see why the B Safe was redesigned to have more competitive luxury features, but none of them were essential to the ease of use of the product (in my opinion). If anything, the shape and weight of the B Safe 35 made it MORE difficult to lift in and out of the base/stroller as well as carry independently. Ironically, the B Ready stroller I bought second hand was included in the top seat/belly bar recall as well since it was a 2012 model. I LOVE the original B Safe/B Ready combination and plan use them together for a long time as our family grows past 2 children. Britax customer service was amazing throughout all of this, and I plan to buy more of their products in the future mostly based on the fact that they seem to respond to what their customers think of the quality, safety and usability of their products.

unable to use after 4.5 months

Comments about BOB B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat 2016 (Lagoon):

We bought this car seat for our grandchild so we had a car seat when we are babysitting. We watch our little guy 5 days a week and I did extensive research on car seat safety before buying it. It was great when he was 3 months old. He is now 6 months and weighs 22 pounds. The car seat is so narrow that he doesn't fit. He started to cry every time we secured him in at 4.5 months. I am quite disappointed since we now need to purchase another seat. My daughter has a Chico Key Fit infant seat that he still fits in well.

Wanted to Love It

Comments about BOB B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat 2016 (Lagoon):

Great safety ratings -terrible shelf life. Our 4 month old started crying when we placed him in his seat around 2 months. By 3 months he would just all out scream (settings all adjusted to the biggest/tallest settings, and our baby was a preemie who is now around 13 lbs at 4 months. He is long but still well under the 32" limit). We had to buy a convertible car seat around 3 months because he would just scream the entire time, sounding like he was in pain. I am disappointed in only getting 2.5 months out of something expensive!

Easy to use, compact infant seat

Comments about BOB B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat 2016 (Lagoon):

My youngest is in this infant carrier and overall we have been quite happy with it. It's compact and easy for all caregivers to use. The open belt path for use without a base makes it foolproof and no cover needs to be removed or repositioned. My only complaint is the straps came a bit twisted and I needed to rethread them to get proper tension on baby. Not a difficult fix, but a step I had to take none the less.

Broken Pieces

Comments about BOB B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat 2016 (Lagoon):

I have had this seat for 6 months. The front buckle piece that releases the straps broke on the inside after two months and continues to come apart. The chest buckle began not latching last week. The piece that connects the latch has now completely broken off. I have a friend who has the same seat and the same issues have happened to her seat.

Comments about BOB B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat 2016 (Lagoon):

This car seat is way too narrow. My baby is 4 months old 16 pounds and 24 inches and has already outgrown this car seat. I wish I could return it and go with a brand that would last longer because this seat was too expensive to only last a couple of months. I am going to go ahead and switch to a convertible seat for her comfort. It is also very heavy, but my biggest issue is how narrow it is. My daughter hates getting in and out of it. Her shoulders are squished and her chin is stuck to her chest. When she was a younger she would sleep in it, but now she wakes up after about 20 minutes because of she so uncomfortable. I do not recommend this seat for the price.
