I am not one to spend a lot if time in the kitchen and appreciate the convenience of being able to quickly prepare small batches of food for my 7 month old. The Babycook does nothing that a separate steamer, blender, food processor, etc., can't do, BUT it eliminates the hassle of having all of these on your counter, having to clean each one and having to make batches large enough so that they work effectively. And who wants their freezer filled up solely with carrot purée? The convenience of having multiple functions in ONE appliance means that I can quickly make some food for my baby, freeze a batch (about 10-14oz?), clean up quickly and move on to the other dozen things I need to do. My baby gets the benefit of homemade baby food, I get the benefit of ease and convenience!

I have several other kitchen appliances, but got this because it steams and purees. I had neither a steamer or a smaller food processor. I like that it does both and that you can puree smaller portions (but not too small). However, the lid on it warped after my husband put it in the dishwasher one time (top rack!) and it is supposed to be dishwasher safe. Also, I feel like it could be a little sturdier/heavier for the hefty price. I still use other things to prepare baby meals for my 6 month old. If you read any of the baby food books (like Annabel Karmel's & Lisa Barnes') you'll see that you probably don't need this.

Comments about Beaba babycook (Sorbet):
Very efficient. Steams vegetables perfectly and you can save nutritious juices for puree. Takes no more than 10 mins to steam hard veg and purees to smooth puree. Reheat/defrost function handy, but be careful to let food cool as its usually v hot coming from steam. My first time making homemade babyfood and I am no cook, but have managed to make large batches and freeze them using the beaba ice tray. Baby loves it! Money saving in long run and better for baby to have home-made organic goodness with no preservatives. PS. don't bother with the cookbook, way too fancy and better everyday recipes free online.

Comments about Beaba babycook (Sorbet):
This is a great product to use when you're making dinner and want to make something for your child too. I have only used to it make bulk batches to freeze, which isn't quite as convenient. To make one butternut squash took four batches, but I would much rather steam my child's food. It's nice that it does it all in one container. The cookbook that comes with it isn't very helpful, so I got a different one to give me ideas since I just started my child with solid food and am not doing anything fancy yet.
