We loved the idea of the Mamaroo with its various movements and sounds for our infant that kept her occupied while I cooked in the kitchen or sat down for a meal. I had a hard time assembling because the arms were labeled in a confusing way (which is left/right and facing what direction). I ended up putting in the arms incorrectly so we had to break one off. Luckily, our local store was willing to replace the parts. When we reassembled again, the base was broken when we plugged it in. It was catching and wouldn't move smoothly. So, we had to take it back to the store AGAIN for a third time! Thankfully, our local store let us take their display model base home and replace our broken one. I'd say the kudos go to the store in this case and not the product. After all is said and done, we like the product now that it works but had a few snags getting there! Bottom line, our baby likes it and sits in it for 30-45 minutes at a time.

Was hoping the mamaroo would aid in settling our daughter and be a place she could nap. Hasnt worked for us. None of the movements/motions are settling enough to rock her to sleep. Also really doesn't recline very far so the baby stays fairly upright. We will keep trying to see if she eventually takes to it but for now we have a large, expensive device sitting in our living room collecting dust :(

Have a 3 week old and still not sure if the mamaroo was the best pick. Seat seems a little too spacious, and it does not seem as soothing/comforting as would be a typical swing (or something with a more snug fit like a carseat). Although my baby can sit quietly in it, he gets fussy after about 10 minutes and wants to come out. We are going to keep it and see if he grows into it as he gets bigger/older (now 8 lbs), but in the meantime, am buying a swing chair (which kind of defeats the purpose of the mamaroo) because I need someplace that he can sit for a slightly longer period of time. As a side note, though, my husband loves the mamaroo's cool shape, design and style.

Its a soothing toy... the motions are great, however it could use a better mobile. My son could watch the mobile in his crib for hours, yet he gets bored really fast in the mama roo.
